before driving north to the game reserves of Zululand or the Kruger

the beam of our powerful spotlight for the seldom-viewed nocturnal

about traditional Zulu life and arts and craft, including Zulu dancing

- Birding - Zululand offers
an outstanding bird watching holiday in South Africa, with over
600 of South Africa's 900-odd bird species concentrated in this
area. Large flocks of flamingos, pelicans and other water birds
can be seen at Lake St Lucia all year round and Hluhluwe boasts
a large population of raptors. Species specific excursions available
to a variety of habitats including large lakes, mixed woodlands,
riparian forests, coastal and dune forests, riverine and evergreen
forests, marshes and floodplains. Viewing is generally the best
during the breeding season - Sept to early Dec (full day)

Kwazulu Natal Beach
- uShaka Marine World, Durban
- enjoy a day of fun at this world-class aquarium and entertainment
complex, including interacting with dolphins, penguins and seals.
The Sea World aquarium is built inside a reconstructed steam freighter
wreck and contains the most comprehensive collection of sharks in
Southern Africa. Snorkelling is available and also (for certified
divers) a shark tank dive! Wet n Wild water park is fun for all
ages, and the private beach offers windsurfing, kayaking, volley
