Fantastic hosts/staff and accomodation. Special mention for the lady who cooked breakfast. She was amazing and so friendly. A real asset to the business. We had the Strelitzia room which came with its own terrace. Perfect for sunbathing and alfresco dining. 5 minute walk from restaurants and bars. Super safe area. After being away from S.A. for 26 years I had forgotten just how friendly durbanites are. Although Umhlanga has grown it still has a beach town vibe and is the perfect place to base your holiday. We stayed for 2 weeks and could easily have done a month. Hopefully next time. Thanks so much guys, we had a great time! Neil and Summer -x-

My husband and I had the pleasure of staying here while we were in town for business. We were greeted warmly by the lovely owner Cilla on the first evening and then every morning by Sandy. We enjoyed our morning chats at breakfast with Sandy. The breakfast spread was superb. The omelletes were out of this world! Best ever! The staff were lovely, the room very comfortable and spacious. It had a fridge which we made use of for snacks. All little details were thought about to make sure that you had everything we needed. There is WI-FI in the rooms as well. We utilized the laundry service, which was great. We stayed in the superior room and loved it. We will be back! Thank you Anchor's Rest team for making our trip comfortable!

Our stay was wonderful! The room was clean, cozy, and had everything we needed to feel comfortable. The hosts were kind and welcoming, always making sure we felt at home. One of the highlights was the amazing breakfasts — they were fresh, delicious, and such a perfect way to start the day. The thoughtful touches and attention to detail really made our stay special. We'd happily return and recommend this place to anyone looking for a relaxing and enjoyable stay.

We had a great holiday at Anchors Rest. Our room was large and airy with a comfortable bed and we had a spacious bathroom with windows. The best feature which we loved was the verandah that looked onto tropical gardens. It was very peaceful and we enjoyed swimming in the pool. Our hosts and the staff were kind considerate and made our stay the best! Thankyou so much. Elaine & Johnny

The villa was a perfect place for a break away. Cilla, Marilyn, Peter & their team did everything they could to make our trip great. The rooms are comfortable and beautifully placed around a nice veranda & pool. The breakfast was made to order & was plentiful & fresh. The lounge area was made really nice by the large well equipped bar serving very reasonably priced drinks. The villa is situated within walking distance of restaurants, bars & the beach & an easy Uber ride to Durban. We will return.

Returned to Anchor‘s Rest for second year running & enjoyed it as much a the first. Room was very comfortable, the breakfasts delicious, and a great location. Very easy to get to the village or the beach area. Thank you all for another wonderful stay Cilla.

It was a very wonderful stay. Staff were very friendly and welcoming. I arrived late, but they patiently waited and got us all sorted. Will definitely return in the future.

Tranquil accommodation. Best choice for our anniversary! Closer to the beach. The staff were friendly and kept the place neat.
